Employee Password Policy - February 9, 2018

On Feb 9, 2018 (4:30-5 p.m.), EKU IT will begin implementing an updated password policy for employee email accounts. This change will not affect you until the next time you change your email password.

Details of the policy:
• The new minimum length for your password is 10 characters (previous was 8).
• You can now keep the same password for 180 days (previous was 90).
• Your password must characters from at least 3 of the following categories:
o Uppercase letters  (ABCDEFGHIJKLMNOPQRSTUVWXYZ)
o Lowercase letters  (abcdefghijklmnopqrstuvwxyz)
o Numbers  (0123456789)
o Special Characters  (~!@#$%^&*_-+=`|\(){}[]:;"'<>,.?/)
• Your password cannot contain your username or first name or last name.
• Your password must be different from your previous 3 passwords.
