Single Sign-on (SSO)
On the morning of August 26, 2019 the web portals of EKU Direct and Degree Works transitioned to using single sign-on authentication (the same style login used for Blackboard and mymail). Your login credentials will be your EKU email address and password. You could be prompted to set up password recovery upon logging in if you have not already done that.
EKU Direct will change to single-sign on but will still allow for the traditional EKU ID & PIN login for some period of time. The new single sign-on option will allow for seamless integration with other EKU services. When selecting the EKU Direct links on the main EKU page, individuals will be directed a new page listing the login options. The options to be listed will include the following:
- Current Students, Faculty and Staff (Email login/password. Seamless Integration Login via Microsoft Azure)
- Model Parents, Pay Bill - Former Students, Graduate School New Students
(EKU ID and PIN login)
Password Recovery is a service you will be prompted to configure the first time you use single sign-on. (Most students have already done this.) Password recovery gives you the option of resetting your EKU password without needing to call IT. Please visit https://it.eku.edu/support/passwordrecovery for more information.
Degree Works will change to single sign-on (email address and password authentication) effective Monday, August 26. This will be the only option to log in to Degree Works.
Single Sign-on Saves You Time
- Log in with your EKU email username and password in one software or web-based application, and then
- Access many other applications that you use throughout the day without having to enter your username and password again.
Without it, you might have a different username and password for different applications that you use. Or, you would be required to type your credentials every time you open a new website or application that required you to authenticate as an EKU user.
Applications that use single sign-on (SSO)
A wide variety of applications at EKU are set up to use the single sign-on process. Here are just a few:
- Blackboard
- Google G Suite of applications
- Office 365 applications
- EKU Direct
- DegreeWorks
