What devices and methods can I use to authenticate?

The column headings in the following table are the types of devices that can be used for multifactor authentication.  The row labels list authentication methods.  Together, they should which methods of authentication are available for each device.

Explanations of an authentication method is briefly explained below the table.

Microsoft Authenticator App

  1. Select Approve a request on my Microsoft Authenticator app
  2. Approve sign in request number matching will display a two digit number
  3. Open Microsoft Authenticator app and enter the two digit number to approve sign-in

Microsoft Authenticator Passcode

  1. Select use a verification code
  2. Open Microsoft Authenticator app and select Eastern Kentucky University with your EKU email listed
  3. The app will present you with a One-time code
  4. Enter the One-time code on the device you're attempting to approve sign-in

Text Message

  1. Select the Text option for the desired phone number on the 2FA/MFA login screen
  2. Open your Text messages and look for a message with a verification code for Microsoft Authentication
  3. Enter Coe in the box provided on the login screen
  4. Click Verify 

Phone Call

  1. Select the phone you wish to use from the list of your enrolled devices on the 2FA/MFA screen
  2. Click Call
  3. When your phone rings, answer it, press the # key, and hang up

YubiKey

  1. Select your security key from the list of your enrolled devices on the 2FA/MFA login screen
  2. Click Use Security Key
  3. Insert your security key into a USB port
  4. Tap or press the button on it
