Using Software Center to Install Programs

For Faculty and Staff secure PCs, software can be safely installed using the Software Center tool to install packages prepared by IT staff.

Software Center is located under All Programs in the Start Menu under Microsoft System Center 2012:

The Available Software tab shows optional and mandatory programs that have not been installed yet.  Be sure to check the "Show optional software" box to see everything that is available to you:

After software starts to install, you can monitor the progress with the Installation Status tab.  This will also show any error information if a piece of software fails to install:

The Installed Software tab shows software you have installed using the Software Center (though it does not list updates).  From this tab you can also uninstall any such programs that you no longer wish to use:
