Before Leaving the Office

  • Click Start
  • Right click on Computer (My Computer in XP)
  • Select Properties

  • Click Remote Settings (Remote Tab in XP)

  • Confirm the Check Box under Remote Assistance is checked
  • Confirm the middle radio button is selected to allow connections

Begin VPN Instructions from External Location

  • Open Internet Explorer
  • Navigate to Tools 

Tools is located in the menu bar at the top left corner

or the navigation bar

  • Go to Options at the bottom of the Tools menu
  • Click Security Tab
  • Select the Green Checkmark/Trusted Sites

  • Type in the exact web address of VPN (SSLVPN.EKU.EDU)
  • Click Add

  • Select Close
  • Select OK
  • Close Internet Explorer
  • Open Internet Explorer
  • In the web address bar type in
  • Follow the onscreen directions

NOTE: The SSLVPN is an automatic setup procedure from this point on. If it fails the first time, simply close Internet Explorer, re-open and begin at step 5 and repeat until it actually finishes and says it is connected. If it fails, it will give an option to click on Download. This Download option WILL NOT work. In order to connect it has to be done by the Cisco VPN connector conduit.
