Recovering From Phishing-Students

Students, if you fall victim to a phishing email here are the next steps to recovery of your EKU email address/password.

Reset your password immediately.  You have several options.

  1. Go to the mymail.eku.edu website and click the Change My Password button.  If the thief has not already reset your password, this method will work.
  2. Go into EKU Direct.  Click the Personal Information tab. Click Change Active Directory Password (Faculty, Staff, Student, Blackboard & Email).
  3. If your password doesn't work you can stop by the IT Support Desk in Combs 208 with a picture ID and they can reset it or if you set up a security question in EKU Direct, you can call them to reset the password at 859-622-3000.

If you notice you are no longer receiving emails, they are probably being forwarded.  How to disable this:

Log in to your myMail account. Click the ‘Gear’ icon by the question mark in the upper right-hand corner of the page.  Choose ‘Mail’ located under 'Your app settings' near the bottom of the right sidebar. Then on the left sidebar, choose ‘Forwarding.’  If there is an email address in the forwarding box, delete it.  THEN, click the button in front of ‘Stop forwarding,’ then click the Save button.  (See screenshot below for reference.)
