What is the Refresh Program?
The rollout program is an IT sponsored program that provides brand new computer for eligible staff and faculty.
Who is eligible?
Full-time staff and full-time faculty are eligible - one computer per position once every four years. Qualifying employees are required to turn over their existing computer in order to receive a new device.
What devices will be offered for the 2022-23 rollout?
Qualifying employees will receive a new laptop to replace their existing device. Exception: eligible employees who currently have a Windows desktop/laptop and who request to switch to an Apple computer must be approved by their department head, dean/director and the chief information officer. A business justification must be provided. A form will be available here in the near future.
New device computer specifications
IT has developed computer standards in order to increase system reliability and compatibility as well as keep support costs down. By using standard hardware, operating systems and applications, we can reduce the total cost of ownership, the time it takes to deploy a computer to a user/department, and the time it takes to fix and support issues.
