Staff Spotlight: Ryan Lewis

Ryan Lewis is a senior network engineer in EKU IT, which means he designs, implements, and maintains the university network infrastructure to ensure seamless connectivity and optimal performance for EKU faculty, staff, and students. “A network engineer is integral to the functioning of a college campus, contributing to the academic, administrative, and research aspects of university life..”

Ryan grew up in Hyden, Kentucky. “Southeastern Kentucky is more than a place; it’s a feeling–the muddy riverbanks, the rolling hills, and the kinfolks’ stories, all woven into the fabric of who I am.”  

He graduated from EKU in 2016 with a degree in network security and electronics. 

During Ryan’s free time, he enjoys playing music (vocals, guitar, bass, drums, etc.) as well as outdoor activities such as hiking and kayaking. He is also an avid gamer. 

Ryan has worked in IT since he started as an AV tech student worker while completing his bachelor’s degree, returning to us full-time in 2019, and we’re lucky to have him on our team!
