Eastern Kentucky University (EKU) is transitioning its Learning Management System (LMS) from Blackboard to Canvas, aiming for a more intuitive, user-friendly interface, improved collaboration tools, and a better mobile experience. This move will consolidate the LMS platform across all EKU faculties, students, and staff, striving for a seamless academic experience. The transition includes a timeline of key milestones, with Canvas access slated to begin in July 2024 and various training opportunities, from on-demand resources to interactive workshops and personalized consultations. Highlights:

• Timeline. Beginning in January 2024 and continuing through May 2025, the timeline will help everyone understand the transition phases of this project.
• Resources. EKU provides comprehensive resources for faculty and students to transition to Canvas starting July 2024. This includes practice sites for faculty, various training options tailored to different roles within the university, and multiple learning materials such as self-paced guides, video tutorials, and one-on-one consultations. The goal is to smooth the transition and accommodate different learning preferences and needs, ensuring users are comfortable with Canvas's online, face-to-face, and hybrid education tools.
