Staff Spotlight: Jonathan Sikora

Jonathan Sikora is a security analyst in EKU IT which means he reviews security logs and investigates security alerts.  He also conducts education and training campaigns about cybersecurity issues.  “Cybercrime is a growing threat to all institutions and individuals.  We work hard to ensure that EKU employees and students are protected from these ever-changing threats.”

Jonathan grew up in Kettering, Ohio, a suburb of Dayton.  He graduated from EKU in 2006 with a BA in history and again in 2022 with a master’s degree in computer science.
 

During Jonathan’s free time, he has many hobbies to keep him busy! “I am a giant nerd and do a lot of video and tabletop gaming.  I also enjoy hiking, woodworking, sailing, and fencing.  My wife and I enjoy taking regular trips [around the world].”
 

Jonathan has worked in IT since January 2011 where he started at the Service Desk. We’re happy he’s on our team and has progressed academically and professionally into his current position on our security team!
