Fix Your Content Day 2022
Thursday, May 19 marks the eleventh annual Global Accessibility Awareness Day (GAAD). As part of our campus-wide commitment to inclusive education, EKU will participate in the Blackboard Ally Fix Your Content Day. Faculty and staff across all Blackboard institutions will fix as many accessibility issues in their course files as possible. Thursday evening, Anthology Inc, Blackboard’s parent company, will recognize and award the campus with the most files improved per full-time enrollment.
Ally is software provided through Blackboard, automatically working inside every course. It measures the accessibility of your documents and other elements, with lots of helpful clues to improve them.
On Thursday, May 19, instructional designers will provide advice and assistance in fixing content through Ally from 8:00 am. - 4:00 pm. in Commonwealth 1801 or through Microsoft Teams.
How can you help? On May 19th and after, inside your course content areas, click the red and orange indicators to improve as many files as you can. Focus first on images that need a description and low-scoring Word documents. 100% is great, but improvement is what counts!
