Staff Spotlight: Graduating IT Student Staff
The IT department extends heartfelt congratulations to our three graduating student employees. As they close this chapter at the university, we express our deepest gratitude for their hard work, dedication, and the countless ways they've contributed to our operations. Their commitment has been invaluable, and though they will be missed, we are excited to see what the future holds for them. We wish them the utmost success in their next endeavors and hope they carry the skills and experiences gained here into their promising careers. Best of luck, graduates!
Ryan Sheets
Major: Cyber System Technology
Ryan Sheets is a senior Cyber System Technology major from Manchester, Kentucky. He is a Geek Coordinator and has been a Geek since August 2022. He wants to eventually “get a job in networking around Richmond or Danville.”
"My favorite part of my job is the people I work with, along with being able to find projects to work on and figuring out ways to solve problems."
Ryan enjoys 3D printing, board games, and hanging out with his roommates.
Dominique Kellam
Major: Computer Science
Dominique Kellam is a senior Computer Science major from Springfield, Ohio. She is a security analyst and student employee with our IT security team. She wants to “start graduate school in the fall for artificial intelligence and data science here at EKU.”
"As a student security analyst, I monitor IDS logs and risky sign-ons on the network and identify security threats. I also initiate tickets for any suspicious activities within EKU’s network. My favorite part of this job is spotting threats in our network. Then getting to do some investigation and learning about the threats too"
Dominique is currently the treasurer for “Colonels with Kids” and in her free time enjoys cooking, traveling, shopping, museums, sporting events, going to comedy shows, fairs and amusement parks.
Matt Tinge
Major: Cyber Systems Technology
Minor: Computer Informatics
