IT at EKU is offering Office 365 Pro Plus to registered students for free through their official myMail accounts.
EKU and Microsoft want to help prepare students with the technology skills required for the workforce by offering these tools to students for free. According to Microsoft, nearly 98% of students are already using the Office productivity suite. With the Student Advantage program, students can get their hands on the latest Office 365 suite, powered by the cloud, across all their devices for FREE.
Each student can run Office on up to five devices. This is the full Office version and is available for PC, Mac, iPhone, iPad and Android platforms. All are available for online and offline use.
Applications include: Word 2013, Excel 2013, PowerPoint 2013, OneNote2013, Access 2013, Publisher 2013, Outlook 2013, Lync 2013 & InfoPath 2013. Mac applications include: Word 2011, Excel 2011, PowerPoint 2011 & Outlook 2011.
Once you are no longer a registered student or graduate from EKU, you will need to purchase a license or subscription directly from Microsoft to continue to use the programs on your devices, or you can uninstall them at that time. Your documents that you created are still accessible and can be opened in other programs capable of opening those files types.
Under EKU's campus-wide Microsoft license agreement, all faculty and staff can purchase MS Office for $9.95 for home use through the Microsoft Office Home User Program.
