ISSUE: Your account information is not available

ISSUE: While trying to activate my EKU student email account, I receive the error 'Your account information is not available'

RESOLUTION:   This means you have been accepted by the university but your email account is still not created in our system.  Generally if you give IT 2-3 days (not including weekends/breaks) it will fix itself.

If, however, you still get the same error after waiting 2-3 days (not including weekends/breaks) then you should call the IT Service Desk: 859-622-3000

 

JAMF Self-Service

There are several ways to access self service. You will only have self service if you are connected to jamf, the mac management system.

One is on your dock, you will see an icon of the colonel.

It may have a number on it if we have sent out a notification for a piece of software, but most of the time, it will just be the colonel.

Less Phishing & Spam with Office 365 Advanced Threat Protection (ATP)

EKU IT is pleased to announce that we will be enabling Office 365 Advanced Threat Protection (ATP) on our Microsoft systems soon.  In addition to other protections already in place, ATP helps protect the EKU community from malicious attacks by providing better spam and malware protection for email, SharePoint Online, OneDrive, and Microsoft Teams.

Lost or broken device used for 2FA

ISSUE: Lose or break device you use for 2FA

FIX: 

  1. Call the IT Service Desk to have them help: 1-859-622-3000 (EST)
  2. They will walk you through the procedure for disabling 2FA or setting up a new device

Manage email messages by using rules

Rules allow you to move, flag, and respond to email messages automatically. You can also use rules to play sounds, move messages to folders, or display new item alerts.

The easiest and most common rule to create is one that allows you to move an item from a certain sender or with certain words in the subject line to another folder. You can create this rule directly from a message you've already received.

Microsoft Account Recovery Tool

Beginning Wednesday, May 29, 2019 employees and students will have the ability to setup self-password resets on their @mymail.eku.edu accounts (e.g., Blackboard, myMail).  Once this is enabled after you enter your login information (username/password) you will be prompted with a 'More information required' box on both a PC

Microsoft Authenticator App, the fastest way to login (Basics)

The Microsoft Authenticator app helps you sign-in to your accounts if you use two-factor authentication (2FA).  Two-factor verification helps you access your accounts more securely.   No more getting a phone call, or receiving a text code to sign-in!  Another great thing, you don't need an internet connection to use (after the initial setup). Move or Copy Document Pages WebApp
