More-Integrated Email Filtering Solution
Faculty and staff email accounts are now secured by Microsoft Forefront Online Protection for Exchange. This email filtering solution attempts to intercept spam and malicious emails before they reach the user’s Inbox. Unlike the old spam filtering solution which required a separate login, users may now view their spam messages in the Junk E-Mail folder in Outlook, OWA, or any other email program including that on most smartphones. While the quality of filtering is industry leading, users are urged to remain vigilant about not opening, responding to, or clicking on links in questionable messages. No filter is one-hundred percent effective. The old antispam.eku.edu has concluded its tenure of filtering messages, but will remain available for a short time.
