Information Technology A to Z Index IT Service Support Request

IT wants your opinion--How is your technology experience at Eastern?

In February randomly chosen EKU students and faculty will have an opportunity to complete an online survey to give EKU IT feedback about our work and to compare our IT to other US and international institutions.  This feedback will help refine the IT services and support you enjoy moving forward at the university. Participation is voluntary and responses are completely confidential.

The survey has been delivered and analyzed for 15 years by the EDUCAUSE Center for Analysis and Research (ECAR). EDUCAUSE is a nonprofit association with 2,3000 member organizations and over 99,000 individuals in 45 countries.  “They help higher education elevate the impact of IT by working together to tackle challenges and leverage opportunities that are constantly evolving within higher education.”  Part of what drives this mission is the results of the ECAR survey.

The survey will provide us with student technology experiences, behaviors, and preferences regarding topics such as device access and use, the campus wireless experience, the LMS (Blackboard), and student learning environment preferences.  It will also provide us with the faculty members’ experiences, behaviors, and preferences in many of the same areas as students but also security training and practices, classroom technology experiences, student success technology, and perspectives and performances for teaching and learning environments.

IT will have data that can provide insight to improve services and support for students and faculty, prioritize IT contributions to Eastern’s strategic plans, and help EKU advance as technologically competitive among peer institutes.

In addition to gaining access to the survey data for further analysis, and EKU IT will be part of aggregate level data for EDUCAUSE reports, infographics, and data almanacs.

The survey will open Monday, February 25 for the randomly selected individuals.  The survey will close on Friday, March 22.  IT will be posting reminders on social media and sending IT Notice emails as these dates approach.

After completing the survey, participants can elect to enter their email address into a separate drawing for one of numerous $50=$200 gift certificate to  Students and faculty will only be contacted by EDUCAUSE if they are randomly selected to receive a gift card, and their contact information will be kept confidential.

Results will be published next year on the IT website.
