October 1 marks the start of National Cyber Security Awareness Month.
This initiative is led by the National Cyber Security Alliance and the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS). EKU will be joining a growing global effort among colleges and universities, businesses, government agencies, associations, nonprofit organizations and individuals to promote online safety awareness.
What is phishing? It is the use of email spam (unsolicited email) to trick people into disclosing financial or identity information like credit card information, usernames and passwords, etc. Most come via email, but can come over the phone (Vishing) or as a text message (SMiShing).
The University has signed a contract with Blackboard SaaS. The Learning Management System Review Committee had hoped to announce our new LMS system before the end of the spring semester, but the contract negotiations took longer than expected.
IT will be pushing out an update to Windows PCs on Tuesday, May 30th that could affect the appearance of the Microsoft Lync (Skype for Business) client software. The software functionality is still the same; however, the icons look a bit different.
